  • Acoustic Consulting and Expert Reporting

Do you need clarity & certainty regarding an acoustic issue?

You will get a survey and reliable recommendations that take into account compliance with applicable standards and guidelines in occupational safety and noise control.

prognose.png
  • Acoustic calculations & prognoses

You have a (construction) project and would like to know how to comply with the legal regulations on acoustics?

You will get verified calculations, simulations and realization scenarios on how your (building) project can be successfully implemented according to your requirements. Your advantage is the minimization of cost risks through a clear and goal-oriented conception - and this already in the planning phase.

  • Building and room acoustics planning

Do you have target values and would you like to know which measures can be used to comply with them?

You will get individually developed acoustic concepts. Together we design your projects in the areas of: Room acoustics, building acoustics, sound insulation/enclosures, studio acoustics, industrial halls, event halls & concert halls. If you cannot assign your project to these areas, then you have already sparked our curiosity.

Acoustic measurements

Acoustic measurements can be performed directly at your site to evaluate the acoustic quality of any environment. The measurements serve as a basis for planning, as proof or for surveys.

In addition to the classic determination of the reverberation time (reverberation) of a given environment, speech intelligibility or privacy can also be determined, e.g. that of an office space.

With the help of a polar localization measurement, sound reverberations in the room can be specifically located.

Isolated product or material analyses are carried out in our laboratory or in measurement rooms.

  • Measurement of parameters of room acoustics (performance rooms) DIN EN ISO 3382-1

  • Measurement of room acoustics parameters (reverberation time in common rooms) DIN EN ISO 3382-2

  • Measurement of room acoustics parameters (open-plan offices) DIN EN ISO 3382-2

  • Reverberation time / STI (speech transmission index) / RASTI / % Alcons / FFT / etc.

  • Polar localization measurement

  • Measurement of sound absorption in reverberation rooms DIN EN ISO 354

  • Time-, energy- and frequency- measurements in anechoic chambers

Measurement of material parameters

Do you have a material or fabric and want to know if it reduces noise? You will receive a determination of the transmission (sound penetration) and assessment of how well the material you prefer is suitable for your project. For the measurement procedure, we only need a small sample (DIN A4) of your material or fabric.

If your material or fabric does not provide the desired acoustic effectiveness, you will receive a recommendation of additional measures or alternatives that will lead to the desired acoustic effect.

  • Sound absorption in impedance tube ASTM E2611-09

  • Sound absorption in impedance tube ISO 10534-2 / ASTM E1050-08

  • Flow resistance DIN EN 29053 / ISO 9053

  • Porosity

Acoustic particle simulation can predict the quality of the planned building or space already in the planning phase of a project. Acoustic quality can also be mapped in advance for existing properties. In a further procedure, acoustic products can then be placed at effective locations in a targeted virtual manner until the desired effect is ensured in accordance with the specifications of the currently valid standards and guidelines. The results can be verified by a virtual measurement.

Acoustic particle simulation is always recommended when a cost risk has to be minimized.

  • T20 (reverberation time) in the diffuse field

  • SPL (sound pressure level)

  • PI (privacy index)

  • STI (speech transmission index)

  • Measurement path along workstations to determine:

    • D2,S (rate of spatial decay of A-weighted sound pressure level of speech per doubling of distance)

    • Lp,A,S,4m (A-weighted nominal sound pressure level of normal speech at a distance of 4.0 m from the sound source)

    • rP (confidentiality distance)

    • rD: (deflection distance)

    • STI: (speech transmission index)

The acoustic camera (sound camera, beamforming) localizes and visualizes sound events. This is extremely helpful when it comes to identifying noise sources whose origin cannot otherwise be clearly assigned.

Beamforming can be used to identify noise sources in buildings, to locate material defects in machinery, or to support sound design in product development.

Application examples:

  • Locating noise sources in noise control

  • Analyse component wear of industrial production equipment

  • Identify material fatigue

  • Checking building acoustics

  • Localize wind & airflow noise

  • Sound design
